GRAWA Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service 2026

Please join the GRAWA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee for our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026. We are proud to offer two meaningful service opportunities for members and their families to give back to our community.

4th Annual Pad Kit Assembly Party

Join GRAWA for a hands-on service project assembling menstrual hygiene kits for Charles Settlement House, Community Food Cupboard, Foodlink, and Refugees Helping Refugees. These kits provide essential items to individuals who may face barriers in accessing menstrual products. Your participation helps promote dignity, health, and overall well-being in our community.

Time: 9:00 a.m. start time. Depending on the number of volunteers, the activity will last approximately 1–2 hours.

Location: Harris Beach PLLC
99 Garnsey Road
Pittsford, NY 14534

Activity Details: This service project is appropriate for many ages. Volunteers are welcome to bring children or other family members who are able to assist. Tasks may include packaging, labeling, and organizing menstrual products.

RSVP by Friday, January 16.

How to Get Involved:

There are three easy ways to donate:

  • Purchase items on your own and drop them off at Zea Proukou: 1840 S. Winton Road, Suite B, Rochester, New York 14618
Donations may be dropped off while someone is in the office Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed from December 24–26 and December 31–January 2. If you arrive outside of business hours, please leave donations at the door.
  • Shop directly from our Amazon Wish List
  • Send a monetary donation via Venmo to @Randi-Proukou to help us purchase additional supplies.

All physical donations, Amazon wishlist items, and monetary contributions must be received by January 18. Hygiene kits will be assembled on MLK Day, January 19.

To give you an idea of the impact — it takes 1,500 pads, 500 tampons, and 500 pantyliners to create 100 kits, and last year GRAWA volunteers assembled an incredible 425 kits!

This year’s completed kits will be donated to Charles Settlement House, Community Food Cupboard, Foodlink, and Refugees Helping Refugees.
