Stephanie
McNinch is now a staff attorney for the New York State Commission
on Judicial Conduct (Rochester Office). Besides congratulations on
her new position, you might also congratulate her on her recent marriage
to William A. Fix.
The Monroe County Mock Trial Tournament got underway in early February
with Kate Houghton and Tara Johnson
serving as judges for the first round of arguments. Jennifer
Powers Iacobucci, Lorisa Loracca, and Bethany
Centrone have been working with students as attorney-coaches
as they prepared for the county wide competition.
At Woods Oviatt Gilman, Greta Kolcon was recently
elected partner. She also attended the NYSBA Annual Meeting in January,
making a presentation on the use of e-mail in the practice of law,
exploring ethical rules as well as potential malpractice concerns.
Laurie Giordano was promoted to partner at
Wolford and Leclair.
Judge Marilyn O'Connor's son, Phillip Seymour
Hoffman, recently won the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards
for Best Actor for his performance in Capote . He has also been nominated
for the Oscar Award for Best Actor for his performance.
A CLE program on Depositions was held in February with Sharon
Stiller, Melanie Sarkis and Debra
Martin presenting.
Tom Collins recently spoke to the Rochester Chapter
of Women in Communications on the topic of Books, Blogs and Business.
As a congressional candidate for New York 's District 25, Paloma
Capanna has been invited by the White House to participate
in a three-day training program on national security and foreign policy.

TO PRACTICE before the Appellate Division Fourth Department this month.
